THE WHAT:
Bringing fundamental 'Groundwork' patterns back into a simple, embodied expression of “just moving”, where complexity is reduced to continuity, rhythm, and directional change. As technical vocabulary develops, it is periodically returned to this level so that what remains is only what is truly embodied and available under flow conditions.
The practice is centred around a small set of core rotational and transitional patterns which connect seamlessly with the foundational 'Role', bringing to the forefront stepping, switching, and spinning relationships that organise the body through continuous shifts of weight, orientation, and support.
A reminder of the isolated patterns:

- Negativa leg-switch (NLS): https://www.movemorevrl.com/videos/negativa-leg-switch-role
- NLS & box-turn CCS: https://www.movemorevrl.com/videos/role-to-box-turn-nls-return
- Front-side low-gait spin: https://www.movemorevrl.com/videos/low-gait-spin
- Gallop to backside low-gait spin: https://www.movemorevrl.com/videos/gallop-insert-to-backside-low-gait-spin
Now working in 'free-association' (FA), rather than treating these as isolated techniques, the emphasis is on their function as a baseline movement language, where crossing, uncrossing, and rotational redirection become the primary organising principles. The body moves between grounded and semi-supported states, alternating between legs and arms as required by the unfolding trajectory.
This also functions as part of the broader ‘momentum walks’ continuum, where rotational flow and directional change can be carried forward into more complex acrobatic expressions. However, in this context the focus is not progression, but maintenance of clarity within the fundamental vocabulary itself.
In practice, this becomes a space for refining coordination, timing, and movement honesty, where the practitioner observes what emerges naturally versus what requires further integration. It is both a practice of execution and reflection, ensuring that foundational patterns remain accessible, efficient, and coherent under dynamic movement conditions.

Role -> 'Scorpion' -> 'Undercut' -> '...
THE WHAT:
A quadrupedal-to-floor-entrance-&-back-again locomotion sequence. It brings together the 'half-Role to Scorpion-tail' integration leading directly into the 'Undercut' transition to enter the floor, then exiting through the 'Box-turn' pattern leading seamlessly into the fundamental 'Role... -
Role to box-turn, NLS & return / 'CCS'
THE WHAT:
A fundamental Role integration including the 'Negativa leg-switch' (NLS) and 'Box-turn'. Whilst the former addition of the ‘NLS’ functions as a convenient direction-changing pattern – the returning ends to a linear sequence – the latter addition, the familiar ‘Box-turn’ injects a spiral... -
AUC -> HBR -> QDR RPU/circles
THE WHAT:
7 progressive examples for integration of 'AU cortado' (AUC), 'High-bridge rotation' (HBR), and 'QDR rotational pushup-up (QDR RPU) or 'QDR circles'. Note that each "progression" is NOT etched in stone - depending on your experience, you may find yourself between a MIXTURE of progressio...
