Standing HS-alignment awareness drills

THE WHAT:
Presenting the theory & practice of forming & "stacked" & "straight" line with the body. Understanding & expressing this in a standing position firstly help to to initially pattern some of the most fundamental concepts. Secondly, it allows the practitioner recognise that these physical mechanisms are actually possible (e.g. locking out the knees, whilst at the same time maintaining 'PPT').
Resource contents:
0:05 - Pelvis & lumbar-spine position
0:41 - Aligning the legs
1:17 - Weight in the "heels" of the hands
1:54 - B2W standing HS-alignment
Their transition to the world of inversion, then, is one of APPLICATION, then, rather any limiting or added requirement for physical capacity. It is just the case that, once we are inverted, not only do we we find ourselves under significant cognitive load in the learning process, but our fine & gross motor-control mechanisms can also have the sensation of being inverted. Suddenly, what we think is posterior is actually anterior, what we think is "straight" is not, and what what we feel is "stacked" is crooked.
This is, of course, the ongoing practice. These drills, then, should be practiced independently as you feel you need them to better understand, and embody, the fundamental concepts of HS alignment. Whilst best practiced for a few minutes immediately before a HS session, they can also be practiced at any other time and you can also focus on those which you feel you need to work on the most (reflect from your handstand sessions).
Lastly, just because these are standing drills does NOT mean that they are for beginners only. Every practitioner can benefit from a more refined HS line - especially if it is the case that, along the road, changes in body-constitution (i.e. 'neural-drive' & mobility-ranges) are being made, as you may find yourself having to constantly fine-tune to your developing capacities. These drill are valuable for those without even 1" of 2-arm balance to those working on their one-arm. Apply them as needed.
