Shoulder-loaded wall-floats (low-press)
Press HS & Stalder press
•
1m 23s
THE WHAT:
A wall-supported context for developing straight-arm strength in the low-press phase, with transferability to the same phase of the movement in the 'Press HS'. In the initial instance, place the hands as far from the wall (but not further) as is necessary to achieve & sustain the 'float'. Progression then develops by bringing the hands incrementally CLOSER to the wall, and then ultimately moving onto the 'Pike' variation.

Standing-pike shoulder-loading
THE WHAT & HOW:
These progressive 'shoulder-loading' variations are used to condition & strengthen the anterior shoulders & upper-back muscles, as well as hip-flexion & the abdominal "crunch" toward maximising 'compression' potential (the ACTIVE forward-folding strength compressing the upper-body... -
Press & pike-walking
THE WHAT:
A locomotive pattern for developing & conditioning overhead straight-arm strength. Whilst the contexts are entirely scalable to the practitioner, a MAXIMAL effort should be made for a straight-arm, overhead press on each "step", regardless of variation. As strength & mobility come to b...

The 'Cast Walk'
THE WHAT:
The 'Cast Walk' is a straight-arm strength (SAS) development context in which the strength-curve is maximal in the LAST 90-degrees (90-180) of arm-flexion (i.e. arms straight out in front, until overhead). This makes it particularly valuable in developing the strength of straight-arm, O...
