Unilateral pulling contexts (rings)
SASS pull (vertical & horizontal)

THE WHAT:
Contexts for developing experience in unilateral (i.e. 1-arm) pulling, using the gymnastics rings. Whilst their practice can contribute to identifying and "unifying" strength discrepancies between sides toward supporting "structural-balance", from a more general perspective, practice of these projects serves to widen the practitioner's experience-base and understanding of pulling mechanics & 'in-/efficient' patterning (both are needed in different cases).

1-arm 'passive' & 'active' hang
THE WHAT & HOW:
The two ends of the overhead-pulling kinetic chain are the hands (connecting the arms to the anchor-point), and the scapulae (connecting the arms to the body). Developing the 'Passive' and 'Active' hang unilaterally (i.e. 1-arm), follows the same progression perspective as bilater... -
1-arm Active-hang 'Reaches'
THE WHAT & HOW:
Foundational development of 'active' pulling strength, with one arm. It is incredibly important that this is built on a strong investment in bilateral (2-arm) pulling before opening as a project due to its potency and potential to injury the unprepared shoulder, due to its intensi... -
1-arm supinated hanging
THE WHAT:
Tools for developing unilateral scapular strength in the 1-arm, supinated active hang. A great scapular-strength development drill to itself as well as preparing the foundation for unilateral vertical pulling.RESOURCE CONTENTS:
