Breathing "Chest-opening"
Breathing-forms

THE WHAT:
A breathing form as an "antidote" to kyphotic lifestyles. This context presents different variations based on the same fundamental concepts: using a back-bending & arm-extended form to "open" the chest-region, then using an inhalation to "expand" and exhalation to "compress" in order to affect a therapeutic stretch. As a breathing-form, it also serves to manage & modulate tension in the regions of the chest, shoulders, and into the arms.
The practitioner is advised to begin practice only with the 'Centre-bend & "expand" (i.e. inhale)' with the 3-intensities of both the back-bend and the arms to initially develop a foundation of embodied experience. From here, explore the same context (i.e. center only) with the "compressing" variation (i.e. exhale). After then exploring the inhaling AND exhaling combined variation, then start to incorporate the angles in self-directed practice.
For deeper insights into the function and execution of this potent form, review the 'IN FOCUS' resource in full here: https://www.movemorevrl.com/videos/in-focus-breathing-chest-opening
Resource contents:
0:05 - Centre-bend & "expanding" (INhale)

5:33 - Bending & "compressing" (EXhale)
6:13 - Bending & compress/expand (exhaling AND inhaling)
