'L-sit' to 'Elevated bent-arm stand' (isolated & integrated)
BAS push (vertical)
•
3m 50s
THE WHAT:
An integration of SAS (straight-arm-strength) in the fundamental 'L-sit' form and BAS (bent-arm strength) in a progression for the 'Bent-arm stand'. In bringing these movements together, focus is on developing the optimal mechanics & patterning to bring them together through a seamless TRANSITION.
Notably, it is one which shifts from a DOWNWARD vertical-push into an OVERHEAD vertical-push, and maintaining the constant intention of RESISTING the force of gravity, whilst the body changes orientation in space, is ultimately the crux of the practice.

Rings bent-arm support (BAs)
THE WHAT & HOW:
Taking the 'bent-arm support' from stable elevation to the unstable rings requires transferability of form, position, and mechanics whilst maintaining integrity of structure with additional "noise" added to the context (i.e. the instability).Whilst the general cues related to th...

THE WHAT & HOW:
Drills bridging the gap between 'Protracted pike pushup' (PPPu) variations and the fully-extended handstand-pushup (HSPU), with support from a wall. The same structure and pushing mechanics as the PPPu apply here precisely, so these should be reviewed here if necessary: https://ww... -
Freestanding Handstand-pushup (HSPU)
THE WHAT:
Development of the freestanding Handstand-pushup (HSPU) begins with application of the foundational structure & mechanics learnt in previous overhead-pushup projects (i.e. the 'Protracted pike-pushup'), expressed with reduced range-of-motion (ROM). In this context, the eccentric simply...
