Standing to 'Back-switch' transitions

THE WHAT & HOW:
‘Back Switch’ is a ground acrobatic transition within the bilateral reverse-hinge family, defined by a lateral switching action from one side of the body to the other while passing through a foot-grounded reverse-hinge position. It is also featured within the world of 'Groundwork', expressed in connection with the 'Role' (https://www.movemorevrl.com/videos/role-to-back-switch).
Its key characteristic is the ability to continuously re-organise weight from one support side to the other whilst riding the "trampoline" of the anterior-chain, maintaining elastic continuity through the hinge position.
Resource contents:

0:42 - Bilateral reverse-hinge to 'Back-switch'
Entry into the system is developed through two main pathways. One is a spiral squat entry from standing, where the body descends with a turning quality into the floor before establishing the reverse-hinge position. The other is a controlled bilateral reverse-hinge entry (sissy touchdown), where the practitioner folds back into the floor through a deliberate posterior hinge, establishing the base position with greater emphasis on control and alignment.
Once in the grounded reverse-hinge position, the defining action is the lateral switch, where weight is transferred from one side to the other through coordinated shifting of support, allowing the body to pass through the centre and re-establish itself on the opposite side. This switching action requires continuous organisation through the hips and torso to prevent collapse and maintain flow between sides.
Execution should prioritise a stable and well-organised reverse-hinge base, followed by smooth and decisive lateral weight transfer. The quality of the movement lies in maintaining continuous connection to the floor while shifting support side-to-side, preserving elastic tension and avoiding breaks in structure as the body transitions through space.

THE WHAT:
This context brings ‘Chapéu de Couro’ and ‘Counter Chapéu’ into a free association, shifting focus from isolated skill execution into continuous acrobatic flow. The aim is no longer simply to perform each movement well in separation, but to apply both patterns in uninterrupted motion, l... -
