THE WHAT:
Concepts & principles are ultimately much more powerful & far-reaching than singular ideas. In the same way, thinking of locomotion from the perspective of 'levels' in space allows the practitioner to see commonalities within certain movement patterns, rather than simply all as separate entities potentially brought together in ultimately random sequences.
The fact is, there are not as many locomotion patterns as we may think. Whilst they are seemingly infinite, on closer investigation we can start to recognise that many are actually exactly the same fundamental pattern, but just performed at a different 'level (e.g. in floor-contact, seated, kneeling, in squat, low-gait, standing, and even aerial).
