The ‘Table Walk’ conditioning pattern

    THE WHAT & HOW:
A fundamental, supine locomotion pattern which, whilst following the same coordination as the basic 'Crab walk', emphasises the range of shoulder-extension (i.e. arms behind the body's mid-line) used by keeping the hips as HIGH as possible. For this reason, in its isolated practice it is firmly a conditioning context which contributes toward developing structural balance in both straight-arm scapular strength (SASS) and range in relation to the much more common practice of straight-arm pressing in shoulder flexion (i.e. arms in front of the body mid-line).
