'Proofing' of the Spine
12m
THE WHAT:
'Proofing' for the spine, affecting both small & large-frame mobility in lumbar, thoracic & cervical spine as well as circulatory movement & patterning. Be sure to check out the 'Perspective of Proofing' resource for a foundational understanding of this concept to support ongoing practice.
Rather than the repetitive execution of fixed routines for the purpose of mobilization, prehabilitation, or even mobility development (although they do have their place), 'proofing' is essentially a "checking" of the articulations to ask oneself the fundamental question: "how am I moving today"? In this process, physiological exploration goes hand-in-hand with self-awareness toward developing mindfulness of the body in movement. The series includes the following areas of application:
- Squat proofing
- Proofing of the spine
- Proofing of the wrists
- Proofing of low-gait position
- Proofing of the shoulders, scapula & rotator cuffs
- Proofing of the ankles & knees
