The Gallop 'step-through' (locomotion conditioning)
59s
THE WHAT:
A variation of the fundamental 'Gallop' whereby the stepping pattern is led by the BACK-foot crossing the front-foot (stepping "through" the space between the hands and the feet), as opposed to leading more purely with the front-foot and the back-foot following.
This ultimately opens up greater movement potential in the pattern, as the act of crossing the legs in the former opens up the possibility of touching-down in this position & rotating/"unwinding" back into a squat position. In the latter 'fundamental' variation, the direction of movement is rather exclusively lateral (i.e. side-to-side in space), and so somewhat limited beyond a locomotion-conditioning drill.
