Basic Quadrupedal Loocmotion Patterns
3m 50s
THE WHAT & HOW:
Foundational locomotion patterns both for physical conditioning and allowing for “linear” movement in space. They are fundamentally semi-/quadrupedal, meaning that the weight of the body is sustained and shifted over support from both the feet AND hands, and are “linear” in the sense that they elicit forward, backward, left & right movement.
In the practice of ‘Locomotion’, then, essentially one of expressing the potentially complexity of the human body to move from point ‘A’ to point ‘B’, the trajectories of these patterns are conceptually akin to that of the ‘Castle’ on a chessboard.
