Wall-facing tuck-handstand (mobility context)
Shoulder-mobility (range-development)

1m 40s
THE WHAT:
The wall-facing tuck-handstand can play a double role in practice. Firstly, in the context of HANDSTAND practice, it can be used to explore to pattern the structure & form of the tuck HS, build proprioception of the legs & accustom to the stresses particular to the form.
Secondly, wall-facing tuck HS can serve as a shoulder & thoracic MOBILITY & STABILITY drill. In this context, however, it must be executed with a specific intention to avoid excessive passive stretching of the shoulders which can ultimately lead to shoulder INstablilty. Like any potent mobility tool, it must be executed optimally with a dosage appropriate to the practitioner.

Loaded shoulder-ER stretching
THE WHAT & HOW:
A loaded external shoulder rotation (ER) context performed supine on a bench or elevated surface with dumbbells, aimed at developing usable, strength-backed end-range external rotation under higher intensity than doorway-based work (see doorway-stretching here: https://youtu.be/SO... -
IN FOCUS: SD shoulder-ER stretching
THE WHAT:
Taking an 'In Focus' look at simple & accessible stretches to develop 'allowances' in the ranges of external shoulder-rotation, using a doorway. The stretches can also be practiced from a re-/prehabilitative perspective. The predominant emphasis is on ranges in the sagittal & frontal-pl... -
Active shoulder-extension
THE WHAT:
An open kinetic-chain context (i.e. the arms are free to move in space) for both range-development and strengthening of shoulder-extension. Whilst closed kinetic-chain, floor-based contexts (such as the 'AG support' and 'Table' holds) do also develop the same range, they express compara...
