Perspectives on goals & progress
'Perspectives' on Movement Practice (more coming...)

THE WHAT:
If you are deeply engaged in any physical practice, it will/should affect & influence all aspects of your being. Your practice affects your perspectives, and your perspectives affect your practice in return. Whilst they have this invaluable potential to inform & enrich one another, the relationship, dialogue, and negotiation between them are a significant grounds for PRACTICE to itself.
This video highlights the trapping of investing & directing ones practice too heavily in/on expectations relating to goals and (largely Western) socio-cultural perspectives of "progress". The takeaway is that too strong an investment in "expectation" leaves us susceptible to a range of negative affect WHEN (not if) things ultimately change. 'Change' is an innate conditioning of Movement and we MUST be able to accept/adapt to it for the benefit of sustainability & peace in our physical practice and beyond.
Deambition, detachment, expectation, frustration management; all closely related topics which you should EXPECT to encounter when the objective is cultivating a Movement Practice. Whilst they also face us in many facets of our social & spiritual lives, the individual contexts of physical practice can serve as a controlled "training ground" within which to approach & experience them, ultimately toward transferability & benefit to the widest practice of them all...
